Posted by Lowell Brown on August 18th 2008 Categorized under Shows & Events

Date: September 13th - 14th

Time: 9 am to 5 pm

Location: : Crowne Plaza DonValley Hotel - 1250 Eglinton Ave East, Toronto

For shelter/rescue staff and volunteers who need to “get to know” the dogs in their care, this seminar is a must attend!

Day 1 – “Assessing your Assessment”
Day 2 - “Private Training that Works”

Day 1 guides you  through (with the help of video) ‘reading’ dogs more effectively, takes an in-depth look at current tools, testing protocols and behavioural assessments and offers programs that help define and address the individual needs of each dog.

Day 2 focuses on the success of reinforcement training and the key role dog trainers play in both the private sector and shelter/rescue work.  Learn how to build a successful training plan, be a good coach, obtain better compliance by building on your client’s strengths, shape client behaviour through effective support and learn what’s really important in the relationship between dog and guardian.  An overview of common issues such as fear, aggression, and anxiety cases will also be covered.
