This month our feature dog, Wyatt, is from Golden Rescue (www.golden-rescue.net). Please read on to learn how you can help this lovely boy.
Wyatt
Wyatt is a 3 year old neutered male Golden Retriever who is a quiet and gentle dog. He is content just being part of the family. He gets along well with other dogs, cats and any other animals he has come in contact with. He loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home but he has a special love for the humans in his life. Wyatt loves nothing more than to cuddle beside you on the couch or at your feet. He loves to go for walks and will quietly explore everything along the way. Wyatt walks fairly well on a leash but will benefit from further obedience training. His foster parents are teaching him to come when called.
Wyatt does have epilepsy and his seizures are under control with medication (Phenobarbital and Potassium Bromide). This doesn’t slow him down in any way, shape or form! He would be best in a home where someone is home more often than not. Wyatt is not destructive at all and has been left free in the house without any issues. It is best that he is confined to an area with no stairs though just in case he had a seizure.
While Wyatt does have epilepsy, his quality of life is excellent and he will bring years of joy to someone who can manage his condition. While in his foster home, he has enjoyed all the same activities as the other dogs and is living a normal, active life.
Wyatt is currently being fostered in the Whitby area. If you would like more information about Wyatt please call Golden Rescue hotline at 416.657.2445 or toll free at 1.866.712.8444 and one of the volunteers will be happy to return your inquiry.
