RUFUS
Big boy Rufus is a 6 year old Saint Bernard who was surrendered to the shelter when his owner became ill and could no longer care for him. Here’s what Rufus had to say during his interview “I consider myself to be a large teddy Bear, and love a good belly rub and being petted. There is a lot of me to love! I tend to take it pretty easy on my walks, preferring to relax and take in the scenery. I would enjoy lying on the grass (or rolling in it), or sitting with you on a park bench watching the people go by. I will need regular grooming and a high quality dog food, once adopted, to keep me in tip top shape. As of mid October, my weight is 147 lbs, but ideally I should weigh around 160 lbs. My previous owner said I can be reactive to certain dogs - particularly if they are smaller or rambunctious. The staff has also noted I show a little too much interest in cats, so I would be most comfortable in a home where I am the only pet (that way I don't have to share all the love!). If you can help me find my forever home through Toronto Barks, I would be very grateful – although the folks here at the shelter are very kind to me, it would be nice to be in a real home soon”
