Mandy is an eight yr old English Springer Spaniel who didn't have the benefit of a good start to her life. At the age of five she was removed from her original home for neglect. There are different forms of neglect and while there was no evidence of physical abuse, it is believed that she suffered through lack of basic necessities, quality care and was emotionally and mentally affected. Three years ago she was adopted to a retired senior lady where Mandy was her loving sole companion and life was good. However, recently Mandy began to exhibit undesirable behaviours to the lady’s family and it was decided that Mandy must go. She was taken to the local shelter who in turn called Springer Rescue of Eastern and Central Canada (SRECC) to help access, rehabilitate and re-home her. Since being in foster care she is described as a dog who is manageable and will provide loving companionship in a suitable home. The ‘right’ home would be defined as having solid and confident dog handling skills. Her foster dad is working with her daily to help her to overcome her past and she is steadily making progress. He reports that she is an energetic gal who runs like a puppy! Mandy has made great strides in her foster home and has become the lovable girl that we knew she could be! She responds very well to positive reinforcement training and her foster dad continues to work on her socialization skills. Mandy currently does resides with another female Springer.

A great many people have gone the extra mile for this girl because they believe in her and wish that her final placement be worthy of her. While SRECC acknowledge that they are looking for a special home, they also recognize that Mandy is a special dog with lots left to give and want to ensure her next home is forever.
