“I woke up today alone, without my loving mom who has always cared for me since the day I went home with her . I’m not sure what’s happening because mom always gets up, gets my breakfast and takes me for a walk. She tickles my belly and talks to me all day long, but today I’m alone. I’m trying to not be afraid but in all honesty, I am. I’m not sure where to find my breakfast or how to take myself for a walk… I’m not sure what to do.”
In September 2010, a family unable to reach their mother called the local police to do a wellness check on her. The police arrived to find the lady had passed away in her sleep. They found little Jazzy by her side. Unfortunately, no one in the family wanted to take in their mother's beloved Jazzy and so they took him to the local shelter. Given his age and how full the shelter was, it was determined he would not be an adoption candidate and a local rescue was contacted.
Jazzy was brought to the attention of LOYAL Rescue and they immediately offered to take him into their rescue.

Jazzy is a 5 pound Yorkshire Terrier who is approximately 14 years old and quite the love bug. He adores a warm lap to snooze in but if there are no laps available, he’s quite fine to snuggle into a blanket and have a nap. Jazzy gets along well with other dogs and we believe he would be fine with cats as well. Due to his small size and older age, we feel a home without younger children would be best. He’s not much of a barker but if he has something to say, he will voice his opinion. Jazzy loves a schedule where he knows what to expect: Wake up in the morning, out for a potty break, back inside for my breakfast then a nice walk with his warm coat on. Back home, snooze for the rest of the morning hopefully in a humans lap or where the sun comes in through the window, then wake up and another potty break. Playing fetch with a ball or getting lots of tummy rubs and a snack or two, more snoozing through the afternoon, dinner time and another walk. Evenings are meant for enjoying a good TV program with snacks included! Potty break before bed and sleep through the night snuggled up to his human.
Jazzy’s ideal home would have a human there most of the time to care for him and his needs however a full-time working person (or people) would also be acceptable. Another pet in the home would be nice but is not necessary. What is most important is someone to love and care for him for his remaining years. Yorkies can live to be up to 20 years old and Jazzy is in good health - his eye sight is fine and he can hear very well. Jazzy has so much to give and asks so little in return – just love and affection.
He’s been fully vetted including all his vaccines and neutered. His world has been turned upside down on him in the past 6 months but he’s ready to join his new forever home and be the loving addition that he has been for most of his life. Might that home be yours?
