Westies in Need (WiN) is a volunteer rescue group, providing care for West Highland White Terriers who have been surrendered by their owners, taken from puppy mills or are in need from animal sheltering facilities. WiN is a non profit group operated by dedicated volunteers working to provide a safe and loving environment for the breed. WiN operates solely on donations and fundraising. All monies raised by WiN goes towards paying veterinary expenses incurred. Many dogs brought into the rescue are in need of extensive medical intervention in addition to the regular series of vaccines and spay/neuter. WiN does not have a shelter or physical location but operates through a tight-knit network of rescue coordinators and foster homes, trying to help as many Westies as possible.
DOGS FOR ADOPTION
SAWYER
Sawyer is an 8-10 year old Westie who was removed from a puppy mill in Quebec. He is learning to trust his foster parents and associating affection and human interaction with positive outcomes. He is friendly but still a bit nervous around new people and other dogs. Sawyer is not fully housetrained yet but that will come along quickly with the right loving family. Sawyer needs a patient guardian who will continue to socialize and him.
HUCK
Huck is also a puppy mill removal from Quebec. Huck loves all his new found affection at his foster home, but he is ready to move to a forever home, preferably an adult only home with an owner experienced with terrier behaviour. Huck is not fully housetrained yet but that will come along quickly with the right loving family. Huck is between 8 and 10 years old, has now been neutered and has had his teeth all cleaned and polished! He is up to date with all his shots and adoption ready.
