Barking For A Home - December - Tasha

Posted by Lorraine Houston on December 8th 2010 Categorized under Barking For A Home

Greetings of the Season to all our Toronto Barks website visitors! Wishing you and yours a safe and happy Christmas filled with love, laughter and wagging tails!

Our featured dog this month comes from Nickquenum Dog Rescue (NDR). Nickquenum (pronounced Nick / kwen / num) is a native word that means "I am going home”. NDR is small not for profit Guelph-based rescue group that is run solely by volunteers and utilizes foster homes until suitable permanent placement can be found. NDR works primarily with rural sheltering facilities and takes dogs into their rescue who would otherwise be euthanized due to lack of space.

All dogs in the NDR rescue program receive vaccinations, are dewormed, heart worm tested, placed on heart worm preventative and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

Meet Tasha
Beautiful Tasha is a 2 year old fine-boned 35-pound girl who is and All Canadian ‘mix of many’ but best guess, says the rescue, is a collie mix. Two year old Tasha would be a wonderful companion for a family, couple or individual. She is a quiet dog who is housetrained, knows basic obedience and loves to go for car rides. She also enjoys going for walks and gets so excited when she sees the leash she prances around like a reindeer. Tasha is very affectionate and loves to be petted and have social interaction with humans. She is also a social butterfly at the dog park and makes the rounds visiting both her dog and people friends. If you are interested in knowing more about Tasha contact Nickquenum Dog Rescue at email northernpassage17@yahoo.ca or visit the website at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/ON200.html
