please help MyraA CHRISTMAS PLEA FOR MYRA
After patiently waiting in the adoption area at a Toronto shelter for five months, it seemed clear that no one was going to offer Myra, the 8 year old Rottweiler, a forever home. Desperate to find their beloved Myra a home to call her own, staff networked and emailed about her plight to reputable rescues in an effort to at least get her into a foster home environment –
she had been in a cage too long!

ABOUT MYRA
Myra is an approx. 6-8 year old spayed female Rottweiler. She came into Toronto Animal Services North Region at the beginning of August but she was never claimed. She loves affection, walks wonderfully on leash, knows her basic commands and LOVES stuffed toys. Myra cannot go to a home with cats. She is currently in a daycare foster facility with other dogs and doing very well in both large groups and small groups, although a recent report states that when she gets over-stimulated during high energy interactions with other dogs, she does tend to become “the fun police” and tries to get the other dogs to stop playing. She is affectionate and demonstrative, well mannered, housetrained, not destructive when left alone and has been well trained (sit, wait, down, paw). She is fully vetted and spayed. She is about 75-80 pounds, very beautiful both inside and out.

A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT
Our plea is for her forever home; ideally a house with fenced in yard, no other dogs, but could probably go with a dog-friendly large neutered male (would Can you help Myra?have to do a meet and greet with both dogs first to ensure or at least get a read on compatibility) and as stated above a home without cats. If there were children in the home, we would want them to be over 12 years old as she is a big girl and we would not want her to knock a smaller child over if she got excited when you first arrived home (as an example). If our Christmas plea for a permanent home cannot be granted, we would also be grateful for a foster home – ideal criteria above.

Speaking of Dogs Rescue and Adopt-A-Rott are working together on helping beloved Myra find her forever path in life. Please help us by networking and sharing her story with friends, family and colleagues.

Please email Lorraine@speakingofdogs.com; or contact@adoptarott.com

Myra is currently being housed at a doggy daycare which we are very grateful for, as neither rescue had a foster home available however, we are hopeful that she will be in a loving home environment for Christmas and the walls around her will no longer be made of concrete.

Sincerely,
Lorraine and Lorrie
